Biography

R. S. Hegadi completed his MCA, MPhil and PhD from Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi. He has 20 years of teaching and 15 years research experience. Currently he is working as Professor and Director at School of Computational Sciences in Solapur University, Solapur, India. He published 51 journal articles, 58 papers in conference pro- ceeding, 6 book chapters and 2 books. He is member of IEEE and other professional bodies. He has delivered keynote sessions and invited talks in more than 20 national an internal workshops and conferences. He has completed one major research project funded by UGC and cur- rently have two research projects worth Rs. 1 crore from Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. His re- search interests are digital image processing, medical image analysis, document image analysis, biometrics, data and image mining.

Objective

The workshop intends to provide a launching pad for the research aspirants, who want to take up research in Digital Image Processing. The workshop will start by focussing on the basic features of Matlab. Useful image processing toolboxes will be covered. It will include different image processing techniques such as image preprocessing, restoration, morphological processing and segmentation. We will cover advanced image processing methods like audio and video processing. Besides, a few related research works will be demonstrated. The entire workshop will be delivered through hands on sessions.

We will divide the workshop in there main categories:
✓ Intro. to MATLAB
✓ Basic image processing
✓ Advanced image processing with applications

Participants must register the conference to participate the workshop. Note that this registration will work for both: conference and workshop.

If you want to organize workshops and competitions, how to proceed?

The RTIP2R committee would like to have few workshops related to the theme of the conference, and the RTIP2R is open for receiving proposals.

Proposal limitations for both workshop and competitions.

The workshop must aim to provide sufficient materials for attendees. Further, note that the attendees will mostly be graduate students and early career scientists.

The competition must receive at least 3 participants. Note that the participants can be any: graduate students, early career scientists or leading scientists (or professors).
